The Cytogenetics Laboratory operates under the medical direction of Dr. Kathleen Bone, PhD, who is board certified in Clinical Cytogenetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG).

Our Laboratory is one of 30 national and international laboratories approved by the Children's Oncology Group (COG) to determine the cytogenetic status of pediatric leukemic patients. We are staffed with highly experienced certified Cytogenetics Technologists with an average 19 years of experience in the field. All of our technologists maintain certification through the American Society of Clinical Pathology.

 

We pride ourselves in providing a full range of high quality cytogenetic and fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) diagnostic testing. Our clinical laboratory services include:

  • Congenital disorders
  • DNA testing for Fragile X
  • DNA isolation for metabolic testing
  • Leukemia
  • Lymphoma
  • Myeloproliferative disorders
  • Prader-Willi / Angelman syndrome
  • Prenatal screening
  • Solid tumors
