Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories (WDL) has partnered with MedSpeed for our pickup and delivery needs. MedSpeed couriers utilize a barcode system to track specimens. These labels will be provided by MedSpeed and will need to be affixed to the outer transport bag and scanned prior to leaving your facility.
Scheduled Service
MedSpeed scheduled service includes stops that visit your location at a fixed time(s) and day(s) of the week. When you become a WDL client, we will work with you to establish your schedule.
To request a change to your schedule, please call the MedSpeed control center at (866) 790-3030.
Long-term Care Facilities: For all of your service needs, please call WDL Long Term Care Client Services at (414) 805-7588.
On-Demand/Will Call Service
For times when patient specimens need to be picked up outside of your regular schedule or if you are a Will Call client, please utilize the MedSpeed On-Demand Service. This service includes any pickup that is not already on a scheduled route.

Supply Orders
Supply orders may faxed to WDL at (414) 805-7660 or (877) 854-5249.

Requests must be received by 2:00 p.m., weekdays to ensure delivery within 48 hours.
Friday requests will be delivered on Monday, unless you have a scheduled pick-up on Saturday.
Preparing Specimens for Pickup
Package specimens per your usual protocol.
Separate room temperature, refrigerated, critical refrigerated, and frozen specimens.
Seal the outer package(s) and label with the correct temperature conditions.
Affix a unique preprinted MedSpeed barcode label on each package.
Place the package(s) in the WDL pickup spot(s) at your location.
If you are a Will Call client and do not have labels, they will be provided by the MedSpeed courier at pick-up.
